Calling all ranch lovers!!! Did you know you can make the creamiest ranch at home with no mayonnaise or buttermilk? That’s right! This Avocado Ranch Dressing is avocado-based and is velvety, tangy, and delicious. Plus, it comes together in just 5 minutes.
As a mom-on-the-go who wants bold flavor but doesn’t have unlimited time in the kitchen, I absolutely LOVE making my own easy sauces to add a homemade element to my meal (see also: Greek Yogurt Caesar Dressing).
Not only are they quick and easy, but homemade sauce recipes mean you can easily tailor them to your taste and have quality control over the ingredients going in!
Especially when it comes to something like French fries. Sure, maybe they’re from the frozen aisle in the grocery store. But dipping them in homemade ranch instantly gives them the lift they need to get that wow factor fast.
This is easily my favorite dressing to dip fries in or add to my veggie burger, sandwich, wrap, or salad. I really love it on this Buffalo Chickpea Wrap!
Avocado Ranch Ingredient Highlights
The amount of water you will need will depend on the size of your avocado. Make sure your avocado is ripe.
You can use a clove of fresh garlic in place of garlic powder if you love raw garlic!
You can also skip all the spices and seasonings and just add a tablespoon of ranch seasoning to make this a super quick and easy 4-ingredient dressing.
Avocado Ranch Tips and Tricks
How I Get the Right Consistency
Just like you can customize the taste of your ranch when you make it at home, you can also customize the thickness.
The amount of water you add to your avocado and seasonings will depend both on the size of the avocado and the desired viscosity. Start by adding the avocado, lemon juice, all the seasonings and herbs, and 3 tablespoons of water to your blender.
Blend on high and then assess. If I’m using it as a spread, I keep it on the thicker side. If I’m making this as a dip, I’ll thin it out with more water.
How I Store Leftover Avocado-Based Dressing
Homemade avocado ranch is definitely best fresh, but because of the lemon juice it will usually last up to 24 hours in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Look out for any discoloration or sour smell to make sure it’s still delicious before diving into leftovers.
