Avocado

Avocados are creamy and succulent and can elevate many meals.

As an environmental scientist, I believe that it’s important to understand the environmental impacts the food we eat.

Compared with other fruits and vegetables, avocados do require a lot more water and land and have been linked to deforestation.

Typically, I recommend buying local produce, but when it comes to avocados, avocado orchards in Michoacán, Mexico rely on natural, season irrigation, significantly reducing the amount of water consumption on these orchards.

Organic avocados from this region are our best option for sourcing avocados more sustainably.
