Sweater Weather calls for pumpkin spice! And those cozy, warming Fall spices do not need to be limited to just coffee. This Pumpkin Spice Mule integrates those iconic Autumnal flavors into a classic mule for a fun new twist.
The ginger beer and vodka lend themselves perfectly to the 5-spice blend in this drink’s pumpkin spice simple syrup. A wonderful combination of bold flavors that blend harmoniously to elevate your mule!

As a busy mom with a sophisticated palate, I love a refreshing cocktail that’s easy to whip up but doesn’t compromise on complex taste!
Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule Ingredient Highlights
Plain or vanilla flavored vodka work best here. I usually go with Tito’s but use your favorite!
You can buy pumpkin spice simple syrup at the store (it’s usually in the coffee aisle on a seasonal basis) or order it online (this Torani pumpkin spice syrup is my fave pre-made one). It’s also really easy to make your own pumpkin spice syrup.
Don’t make the mistake of confusing ginger ale and ginger beer; the latter has much more depth of flavor and is the only way to really get that classic mule taste.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Mule Tips and Tricks
Use a Cocktail Shaker for Most of the Ingredients
A cocktail shaker is not typically used for a classic Moscow Mule, as you don’t want to shake the carbonated ginger beer.
However, since we want to ensure that we are integrating the pumpkin puree and evenly distributing the spices in the syrup, shaking is important in this recipe.
Add the vodka, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice simple syrup, and lime juice to the cocktail shaker with ice. Hold the ginger beer!
Shake the ingredients vigorously until well-combined and chilled.

Top with Fizzy Ginger Beer
Once shaken, strain and pour into a copper mug with ice. Then, top it off with the ginger beer. I like to garnish with a cinnamon stick and lime wedge.
Pro tip: Use a cinnamon stick to stir the ginger beer into the mule.

What To Do With Extra Pumpkin Puree
Buying pumpkin puree usually means you’re getting it in a 15-ounce can, and unless you’re knocking these mules back with a bunch of friends, you won’t use the whole can for this drink.
The good news is pumpkin puree will last 5-7 days in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Make sure to remove it from the can and put it in an airtight storage container.
Then, you can use the leftovers to make more of these mules, this Pumpkin French Toast or Pumpkin Whipped Cream.
