Two Ice Cold Aperol Margaritas

This fresh new take on a classic margarita uses fresh lime and an Italian bitters apértif to give you a crisp, vibrant, Aperol Margarita.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon salt for rim optional
  • 2 ounces blanco tequila
  • 2 ounces Aperol
  • ½ ounce agave nectar
  • 1 ounce lime juice 1 oz usually = juice of 1 lime
  • ¼ cup ice
  • 1 lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  • Optional: salt the rim by running a lime wedge along the rim of your glass to wet it, and then dunking your wet rim into salt in a shallow bowl or cocktail rimmer.
    1 tablespoon salt for rim
  • To your glass, add tequila, Aperol, agave nectar and lime juice to a glass with ice and stir well. Alternatively, you can shake your cocktail up in a cocktail shaker.
    2 ounces blanco tequila, 2 ounces Aperol, 1 ounce lime juice, ¼ cup ice, ½ ounce agave nectar
  • Serve cold and garnish with a lime wedge.
    1 lime wedge for garnish

Notes

  • You can use any sweetener in place of agave in an equal amount.
  • Use a fresh lime if you can.
  • You can substitute reposado tequila for blanco if that is your preference.
