Ingredients

Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup

  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice store-bought or homemade—see below!

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon all-spice

Instructions

  • If you are making your pumpkin pie spice from scratch, mix together cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and all-spice first. If you are using storebought pumpkin pie spice, skip this step.
    1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon, ½ teaspoon nutmeg, ½ teaspoon ginger, ¼ teaspoon cloves, ¼ teaspoon all-spice
  • Add water, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice to a small pot or saucepan and whisk to combine. Turn heat source on to medium and bring to a boil.
    ¼ cup water, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • Bring temperature down to low and allow sugar, water, and spices to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar and spices are dissolved in the liquid.
  • Transfer to a heat-safe jar with a lid, allow to come to room temperature, and then store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month for use in coffee, cocktails, and baked goods!

Notes

  • You can opt to buy storebought or make your own pumpkin pie spice from scratch.
  • Store this pumpkin spice simple syrup for up to one month sealed in the refrigerator. Shake well before adding to your beverage.
